my love / hate of womanship.

Top 10 awesome perks of being female

1.  you get to say super cute whenever you want without sounding ridiculous.

2.  Shopping is a lifestyle.

3.  SEPHORA!   make up is my medicine... this shop makes my heart sing.

4. You can always get out of the hard labor jobs pulling the damsel in distress bit and why not honestly, men have no problem pretending cleaning is a foreign word.

5.  spas.  massages.  all the luxury things as a woman you are expected to do on the regular.

6.  the natural ability to multi task.

7.  Dresses.

8.  Girls nights full of chatter and sillyness. and party planning madness.

9.  Free drinks.

10.  No one ever expects you to be able to fix things around the house or with the car so you can simply get out of it by saying "i dont know anything about that, can you do it for me?"  -- however, if you do know how to do it you just end up looking even more amazing because not only can you do all the super awesome woman things + + +

a few reason i get just a little jealous of males:

1.  camping would be SO MUCH EASIER if we could pee standing too!  i dont think guys really have any idea how very little aim we have.  its such a mess and it makes camping and the like so difficult, its not just about the lack of showering boys..  its the lack of showering with pee stained legs for days on end.. the fear of tipping over into your pee cos you had a few too many beers and its not easy to remain stable while you're trying to wipe.... the shuffling around for tp in the middle of the night...

2.  guys get to burp and fart and be disgusting with out looking unattractive and rude.

3. and mostly because they have more control over their emotions... they dont seem to be ruled by feelings all the time and crying doesnt just happen cos a baby bird fell from its nest...

i guess someone's gotta keep puff's in business.

and thats gotta be it cos mostly, women are the superior gender, right?!!

a few tricks for the summer...

i received a couple forwards with some good information i wanted to share, i dont know if this stuff works but its worth a shot to find out!

Ticks -   to get rid of a tick thats sunk itself into you

"Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.  Cover the tick
with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few
seconds (15-20), the tick will come out on its own and be
stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.   This
technique has worked every time I've used it (and that
was frequently, and it's much less traumatic for the
patient and easier for me.."
--- information received from a pediatrician.

another is to rid of mosquito's

"I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it."

I am definitely going to try these tips out and I'll comment on how it works!  if  you beat me to it let me know what you thought, id love to hear some feedback!

people can be so judging.

i read a book recently about change, accepting it, learning how to live with the new life you have after it... how you dont realize while going thru the hardship of an end / beginning, looking back you will find those are the times you learned the biggest lessons.

I've gone through boat loads of change in the past couple years.. many hard lessons to learn and obstacles to overcome. sometimes it feels like punishment and i can become so angry thinking... why me??  --- as i suppose we all think at times.  but more so than just the tough issues at hand i find myself frustrated with the judgement.

we all have struggles.  we all go through moments of shame we wish no one would ever know about.  we all have those times when we feel so small and vulnerable that all it takes is a feeling of disapproval and you could crumble into thousands of pieces.... or is that just me?  the more i think about it.. how often is it that you actually hear the raw truth.  the REAL.  HARSH.  NO BULLSHIT feelings and thoughts a person goes through at their worst.. and when you do... how many people in that persons day to day life have any idea?

that lady at the coffee shop who didnt look up and pushed by you.. the one who couldnt smile and looked lost and you felt frustrated and thought "how rude"... i wonder what her suffering is?  maybe she's having a bad day.. maybe she just lost her father?

the guy at your office who's always being too polite.. almost annoying like. saying hi every morning.  always having a great day. asking about your weekend, your kids.. often you think.. mind your bloody business would you?!  maybe he goes home to an apartment alone and has no one to talk to until he comes to work the next day.. maybe his wife and children just left him... you'd never know would you... but i bet its easy to judge him and think, why is he so happy all the time?  what's there to be happy about every morning at work?

i have struggled for years with the lack of sympathy, empathy, compassion in this world.  its so much easier to step on another to climb up that ladder to the top, right.  why develop concern for a stranger and put thought into their needs when we've all got our own struggles.... they'll figure it out.

it's far too easy to judge.. natural i think.  so harsh. so cold.  so unnecessary. but yet we all fall into the trap of assuming whatever makes it easiest to believe of a person.. just at simple glance, a small glimpse of a tiny detail of a persons life that probably means nothing anyway. but judge away...

oh look at how perfect she is, i bet she never has a bad day in her whole life.   well at least that lady is fatter then i am.. no need to feel so bad then.  i bet that guy has loads of money, must be nice not to have to stress about anything just buying anything you want all the time....

i dont know what i really expect to come of writing about this.. if nothing else maybe just evoke some type of thought and prevent even just one person from being so harsh  the next time around..

often we have no real idea of the path others live..

why not be that person who...

smiles at strangers.

buys the next guy's coffee.

holds the door open.

helps the neighbor with their groceries.

compliments the cashier on her hair..

may not seem like much but what's it gonna hurt?

i recently watched the

extreme home makeover show that was about a family who had lost their daughter because she was texting and driving.  it was sad, well and happy as they all are.  this family was really trying to make a difference and reach out to others by using themselves and their experience as an example.  must be really hard to continue everyday to force an issue and at the same time not be able to forget about your loss as its right in your face all the time...

so anyway.. after watching this very touching show and thinking / feeling just sick to my stomach about this family and the negative affects driving while distracted can do to a person / family... i go to the website and read about what happened to the girl and there is a pledge you can take.  the family has set up a page where you take a pledge to never text and drive... i wanted to do it... i felt like it was the right thing to do it!  who would ever know if i sent one little text here and there after signing the pledge???  --- ME!  i simply cannot live with myself saying that to the world and then the very next day sending a text while driving.. i mean does this include not being able to send a text while at a stop light???   ---  what is the matter with me?!!?  why cant i simply just sign the pledge and wait 10 minutes or whatever it is to respond.. honestly, i doubt anything i have to text someone is that important it cant wait.

i am wide awake at 12:38a thinking about this because i know it doesnt make sense.  i know better.. ive been texting and looked up from my phone and had to swerve back in my lane.. ive said.. oooh that was close more times than i wish to admit.  --- i defo have cut down and generally only text when im stopped for a light but still, is it that difficult?  apparently i need to address this with my therapist.. adding it to the list.

zodiac changing bit.

apparently... if you have facebook atleast you will have already noticed the full upheaval which i orginally partook in myself until i decided there HAD to be more too this!

anyway, theres a story on msnbc:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41047777

which is stating the zodiac has changed and when you look at it basically 80% of ppl appear to have been bumped to a different sign.

then you find story's like this on CNN:

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/13/no-your-zodiac-sign-hasnt-changed/

a whole lotta something about nothing!!!

this kinda stuff drives me nuts!!  another way the media puts things in away that those who read only a small part of a story and start getting all wound up before really researching around to see that its not such a big deal.  besides, i dont care what an article says about my sign changing from a Taurus to and Aries... there is no way i fit the Aries profile.... carry on.

mattisms and random funny shit.

We went to buy some inserts for matts shoes the other day.. he works on cement all day moving around lifting heavy stuff and really needs to have good support..

(Walking into the Good Feet store)

construction turned sales guy:  What can i do for you?

matt:   im here to find out about feet.......

(this is when i get that really confused look and cant help but look at him wondering                        why he wants to find out about feet?  does he think this sales dude is like some foot specialist or maybe a doctor of all things foot related??  a foot genious?  ....  what's he gonna say next?  Can you tell me why my feet have grown in the past 5 years??  Do you think my toes are shaped abnormally?  do you think my feet smell a bit odd??)

...  not my choice of words i guess....bla bla bla - random boring stuff, then...

sales guy:     what size shoe do you wear?

matt: 13

sales guy:     have you always been a 13?

matt:  well for a long time  maybe 5 years?  i used to wear a size 12 before.

sales guy:  have you ever worn a smaller or larger size? ........

Wait... there are people who's feet actually SHRINK!!??  --- what are they drinking and where do i get some?!!

NEXT

Matt doing is fav. thing.. asking questions he really does know the answer to...

(Matt calls me)

Matt:  did you return the menards stuff?

Me:  amm...  do you think i did...?   didnt you just see it in the car when you drove home?

Matt:  yah.  ----  Did Tiffany pick up Boujee yet??

Me:  you just said you got home a minute ago... cant you see him????  (mind you, he knows im with Tiffany as i had her pick me up after dropping the car at his work about 45 minutes earlier)

Matt:  ohh.

Me:   we'll be walking in the door in a minute, ill just talk to you then.

(when we walked in the door of the house)

Matt:  You LIAR!  you said you were just walking in the store!

Me:  What?!!  No didn't  ... i said we had already gone to Kmart and looked for a coat for Madeline!

This is when i think  .... "if i were talking about a candy bar...girls mud wrestling...  hunting he'd have heard  every word!"

life is good... laugh it up --- have a great weekend... dont worry, this stuff happens often and there will be more to come!

Disclosure:  in no way do i mean to display matt as dumb.  he is a very smart guy, in fact i dont think he actually realizes how intelligent he actually is which i guess is a bit good for me cos then i get to look so smart all the time : )       .... i think he just doesnt turn that nifty brain on at times, throwing himself into tv mode, i call it zombie vision.

"uncle matt,

you crack me up like an egg"  --- in the cutest 4 year old voice with a little giggle at the end and those sparkling eyes and sweet smile!  matt's neice is about the most adorable thing ive seen ever, well aside from her lovely sister of course.  they melt my heart.  i am quite sure they are going to be breaking hearts by the dozens in the way too near future.  just thought id share some cuteness for the day and hope to crack a smile :)  Happy Windy Wednesday!

go to sleep!!!

i cant sleep.

do you ever have those nights no matter how tired you are or what big event is going on the next day you absolutely can not sleep!  of course i could probably go drug myself and get some sleep but then i know ill be really sleepy tomorrow and i hate that, plus i try not to use medication when i dont absolutely need it.  i said TRY.

anyway... im pretty sure the reason i cant sleep is because of an issue i had earlier with my bf's family.  the stickiest situations always seem to happen with familes and because im not close with mine its especially hard for me to tolerate others due to my unfamiliarity of how it all works.

so heres the sitch... this family does not communicate very well which in itself drives me CRAZY!  then to top it off there are several members with giant delusions who tend to believe certain members are pretty much on the level of jesus himself.. my bf and i actually came to the conclusion that a certain uncle of his must actually have a phone that rings directly to obama himself with all the wisdom he apparently knows.  i dont understand where this comes from at all.. i guess maybe when i have kids someday i'll get the whole "my kid can do no wrong and how dare you say he may be slightly less than perfect?!!!?"  whatev.  when someone tells me my dog did something wrong i immediately think, ugh i bet he did that... naughty puppy!! not... ugh, my dog would never do that.. are you sure??  are you just plotting against him to make him out to sound like the worst dog ever??  how could you say that about MY dog.  my dog doesnt do that sort of thing.  pfft, that person is stupid and clearly wouldnt know their head from a whole in the wall (i dont actually know what that means but my mom said it growing up)  parents of the world.. well the one or two parents that actually read this are probably cringing at my comparison for kids to dogs however this is the only example i could possibly use.  so the next time you want to try and understand things from my point of view just tell your kid to sit, shake and lay down.  then give them a treat and they should go away for awhile :)

anyhow.  this situation bothered me so much because:

1. the obvious issue was due to said "jesus like figure" however no one has the balls enough to say it.

2.  i get sick and tired of going along with ideas and putting myself out because its important to "go with the flow"

3.  when is it ever the right time to say it like it is.

4.  i know im going to be the bad guy if i say how i really feel but how else do i keep going along with this bullshit and still live a morally conscience life!!???!

the biggest issue i have with all this is my bf is the type that never wants to rock the boat and because i love him dearly i try with everything in me to respect his wishes. however, somethings gotta give.. soon!

i think im ready to write dear abbey... or martha or whoever you write that seems to know all the right answers and give you an excuse to be a bitch because its ridiculous you've been playing along with this little charade as long as you have!

albino spiders... EEEK!

i HATE spiders.  not as much as snakes but pretty damn close. they creep me out, move too fast, all i can  think about is how many ive swalled thus far in life..im sure there's a fact somewhere about ppl swallowing a large percent of spiders in their lives.  sick.  i wonder how much it costs for a company to come in your house and spray toxic chemicals to assure those little suckers are gone... i wonder if thats even safe.. or how often you'd have to do it so they dont come back?

the other day i was doing a re-org of the kitchen cos the weather has been getting pretty chilly in the am  and concerning the saftey of my beloved plants this become priority.  i was in a panic state to find the ideal spot for maximum growth as to further my status as the best gardener ever.

there are only 2 windows in this dump of a rental townhouse we've got (the only plus side is cheap rent.. well and its not quite a total dump it just lacks a dish washer and matt refuses to take on the job himself.... pfft, i totally would do it myself however i hate the soggy hand feeling of sticking your hands in that nasty soap water and it takes SO long, besides after meals is the perfect time for me to do sudoku while matt does the dishes, duh) nevermind, so i moved the kitchen island in front of the window as a plant stand.. this was not exactly the purpose as we truly have about 1 sq. foot of counter space.  this palce was defo designed to appeal to the microwave chef. and those who use all disposable silverware. thats a whole bucket of issues im not going to carry on about now.

i decided to bring this plant in

just to see what it would look like cos i have to try it out for my dose of immediate gratification,...just as i set the heavy beast of a plant down a HUGE, RABID ALBINO SPIDER WITH DEATH FANGS AND A RAGING ANGER PROBLEM came racing out on the table.. this thing was massive, at least the size of a quarter.. or a pie plate, i cant remember exactly but i know its somewhere in between the two.

I freaked.. if i had been holding my newborn child over a hot stove of boiling water i  defo would have dropped the poor thing to grab whatever closest to me guaranteed to flattened him.. i suppose this is partly why i dont have children... i hope i dont have a child and drop him and end up getting protective services after me and then the little bugger would end up in foster care and probably become a criminal because of the neglect and anger about his parents being suitable enough to care for him, yikes.

did i get him you ask.. the spider... i know the suspense is killing.... i sure did!!  flat as a pancake! no, flatter than that.. pancakes are kind of puffy so i guess more like flat as hair after you use a straight iron and not just any straight iron but the type that cost a ridiculous amount of money cos they work super well!

so i tell matt this thinking he is going to be as disgusted as i am .. i mean obviously this place is infested with rabid albino spiders!  clearly he will immediately call the landlord asking how to get rid of these beasts!  and if they wont take care of this issue he will threaten for us to move out or call some type of higher authority to get them in trouble and never find any renters again!  To my shock and dismay none of that happend!!

his response?  "you've got the patio set up like a rainforest, what do you expect"  ... well ive been to the rainforest and i did not even see one single albino spider, not even a regular black spider.  -- obviously he is confused. besides, i didnt know all these plants would attract spiders?!  ugh.

Thrift Bugs....

In the past couple of years ive decided to be a thrifty shopper...back in my snooty days (highschool and a few years there after... okay several years after which im too embarrassed to own an exact age) i would have proudly raised my bratty little nose in the air at the thought of second hand anything.. as if i would catch some disease.. pfft, used things!??!  opting to spend my very little cash on ridiculously high priced name brand whatever just because thats what was "in".

I believe my maturity has shown as of late, ive realized the smarter person actually has more to show by snagging a great deal..  shockingly enough, i have lots of used things that would be quite useful to someone else, completely disease free!  who would have thought?!

I drove home a few nights ago, annoyed, as Loud, Cold air was blasting the side of my head.  My window had finally, fully and officially, busted. Not the glass but the motor part wouldnt move the glass and i could hear the glass just sitting inside the door rattling, crying to be lifted up to rescue my hair from rats nest road.
thats really not the point here anyway...

so i stopped at this thrift shop in the middle of a field surrounded by lots of other fields.  Browsing around noticing some fairly good deals however more so my eyes are catching many items labeled with higher prices than you would find in a regular shop with brand new things!   so, you get free things... from generous ppl wanting to help others, you put a ridiculous price on it as to make money to help ppl who are less fortunate totally ignoring that the average person shopping at a second hand store is clearly in need of items at a lower price.

cant really see the point of paying $2 bucks for a glass when you can go to target and get a whole set of 8 brand new glasses for $10.00.  --- something's not making sense here. maybe the health insurance companies have taken over the thrift stores now too.. soon enough you'll find a copay on shopping carts and service fee to use the bathroom, maybe increasing profit by requiring customers supply their own toilet paper, now there's an a+ idea.

(((BUGS))).
